We have received the following information, regarding the city ring road....

Dear teacher

As you may be aware, we are about to begin work on improvement to Junction 6 of the Coventry ring road.

In anticipation of these planned roadworks, please find attached pdf copies of an A3 information sheet we are circulating as far and wide as we can to inform people about the diversions that will be in place when we start work next month.

I also attach a postcard which we are using to encourage people to find out more at www.coventry.gov.uk/yourcity and to follow us on twitter for real time information once the work starts. If you are  able to share these with parents and carers via your parentmail or your networks that would be really helpful.

The closure is set to start on Saturday 22 March – and will be in place for the rest of the year.  We have planned ahead to ensure that the railway station and Central Six are accessible at all times and all diversions for traffic and pedestrians will be clearly signed at all times.

If you want, or would prefer printed copies to share or for staff and pupils to take home, then please contact me via return email or on the phone number below and I will arrange to get you what you need.

The project team will be in a vacant shop in Smithford Way on Thursday 6, Friday 7 and Saturday 8 March between 10am and 3pm to explain the plans in person to local people, so please feel free to make your staff and parents aware of this as well.

Following success in the first round, Abigail, Declan, Emily and Grace took part in the final round of the 'Literally ...Coventry' Booked Up Quiz. The quiz was held at the Butts Rugby Club and was presented by Ali Sparkes, award winning children's author.

Ali spoke about her love of writing - but explained that when she was at primary school she didn't even like reading or writing as she found it so hard!

The quiz consisted of 4 rounds and the final round saw St Gregory's with 35.5 marks out of 40 - we were the winners!

Each member of the team received a gold medal, a signed Ali Sparkes book and a certificate. The team were also presented with a beautiful trophy.

During the quiz there were several 'spot prizes' awarded to the first person to answer other book related questions. Abigail won two of the prizes and Jimmy won one as well - and he had come to be part of the audience!

Our children were asked to be the ball boys/girls at the Under 16 Schools National Finals at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday. They did SO well! They were described as "very enthusiasticand keen, keeping up with the run of play at all times". Well done, we're proud of you all!
